- Very well. What about it?
I have been giving it a thorough examination and I suspect that it might be the fabled Emerald of Dahm'a'mun. Have you heard of it?
- No, I have not.
The Emerald of Dahm'a'mun was once a symbol of the Kings of the Dwarves. It was supposedly given to Grathmar the First by Brobbet himself as a symbol of his authority to dispense justice in his name here on the Prime plane.
- How did it come to be in a mine in a distant valley?
That is a very good question! All I know is that the emerald was lost during the Second Siege of Aughundell. Stolen from the treasury itself right under our noses!
- How can we be sure it is this emerald?
If the King were here, he could surely identify it. Unfortunately, he is not and so we will need to compare this emerald to a fragment which still remains in the Royal Treasury. First, however, I will need a better loupe to do the inspection.
- A what?
A loupe, <player>. It is a special type of magnification device that is used by jewelers to do closer inspections of their gems. I have one I use daily, but for something of this quality and type I will need one with prismatic lenses.
- Where would I acquire that?

Yes... but, I do not keep prismatic lenses in stock. They are so specialized, I would never... well, almost never, sell them. Unfortunately, that means you will need to acquire them for me.

Prismatic lenses can be made from glass, but they are best created using azulyte crystals. When it comes to azulyte, the best ones to speak with are dragons. You should speak with Ahassunu in Chiconis and ask for three prismatic lenses.

Prismatic lenses? Well, I can't say I have ever made any, but from what you described it sounds as if a polished unfocused azulyte crystal would be more than sufficient. I could make them focused, but you didn't mention the need for any magical imbuement. Was there?
