A report you recovered from one of the skeleton sergeants mentioned something about a "motherlode" found by the miners. Corporal Telmor isn't sure what that means, but wants you to investigate.

The report you recovered is curious, <player>, and I think we need to investigate further. What is this motherlode that the report speaks of? Is it a motherlode of ore or something else?
- Ore would be the most likely explanation.
I agree, but why would that warrant a report by the foreman? It is strange and it makes me wonder if there was something else that was discovered. Nevertheless, it should be investigated. Please, <player>, return to the valley and search for clues.

- I found this large emerald in the hands of a skeleton captain.
Wow, that is the largest emerald I've ever seen! Curious, this emerald has been worked already. See how it has faces already and is clear of any debris? If it was just mined then, even if washed, it would have still had some debris or cloudiness on it.
- Where did it come from then?
Where indeed... There are no machines in the valley that could be used to work gemstones, especially ones of this size. There is more here than we thought and something seems familiar about this.
