Dralnok, King of the Dwarves, has been lost for almost twenty years. Gulnor the Elder believes signs of the King's passing may be found in the distant Mines of Tolrath, which lies east beyond the Barrows near the Vale of Tears.

Listen to Gulnor the Elder
Lord Dralnok was chasing the Undead Horde that besieged Aughundell, but he may also have wished to cleanse our lands of the undead. While I do not expect you to find him there, you may discover signs of his passing. I would seek for these signs in the Mines of Tolrath for he may have traveled there seeking to prevent the Withered Aegis from using our distant mines.
- Where can these mines be found?
Beyond the Barrows and through a region known as the Stormy March is the Vale of Tears. The Mines of Tolrath lies just south of there. Before you leave town, <player>, speak with Captain Ironbeard.

Tolrath? Yes, if the King fought a battle near the barrows and then forged east then the Mines of Tolrath within the Vale of Tears would most certainly be a logical place to search. You're in luck, <player>, I have scouts there already. Look for Corporal Telmor and his squad.
Look for Corporal Telmor of the Iron Guard near the Vale of Tears. Note: To reach the Vale travel northeast of Aughundell to the Dwarven Barrows, then northeast through the Stormy March. Corporal Telmor is near the Vale of Tears.

Speak with Corporal Telmor
Well, you have found me. My squad is tired from our encounter with undead in the mines. Worse, it appears that the miners were slaughtered before we arrived! I'm afraid we were bloodied and retreated here to rest and recuperate. Would you mind taking care of the remaining undead for us?
Defeat the undead in the Mines of Tolrath. The Mines can be found southeast of the Vale of Tears.
Game Feedback: Having defeated the raiders and sergeants in the Valley, you can now get a clearer picture of the mining site. You see no signs of Lord Dralnok or of the Iron Guard here, only that of the skeletons you slew and of the Dwarven miners slain in recent days. Return to Corporal Telmor with word of what you found here.
Defeat ten (10) of the Skeleton Raiders that remain in the mines

Hm, this appears to be a report by the miners. One of the skeletons must have picked it up, but for what reason? It says something about a... what is this word... motherlode perhaps? You found no survivors then?

This report will be helpful as well. I will send it back to the Captain and he will surely send reinforcements. The mines are such an important source of minerals, we can't let them remain in enemy hands.
