Vor-at's challenge has been delivered and accepted. Now, all that remains is the blood-letting at the Arena. Beware of treachery, however, for the Withered Aegis are not to be trusted!
Quest text[edit]
Vor'at tells you, I will meet the traitor, so-called emperor, in the arena. You must watch and bear witness to the final act of Shau's downfall.
Shau tells you, It is good that you will watch and can attest to the outcome, <player>. Please join Vak-el in the stands. We will begin when you are ready to witness our battle.
Vak-el tells you, This will be a nice show, <player>.
Vak-el tells you, I am in exile, but I have regained my honor, <player>.
Shau tells you, Treachery! Kill him, <player>.
Vak-el tells you, Traitor! Kill him, <player>.
Master Ta'ort is dead and First-Lord Vor'at is the last member of Shau's Privy Council still alive. Shau can't wait to complete his vengeance, speak to him.
Shau tells you, The traitor, Ta'ort, is dead and the challenge may continue. No further treachery, Vor'at!
Vor'at tells you, Fool, you'll die at my own hands.
Vak-el tells you, I am not surprised by this treachery, but this time shall be fair and square.
Vak-el tells you, I am in exile, but I have regained my honor, <player>.
Vak-el tells you, The matter is resolved, <player>, but Shau remains exiled for our people remain under the yoke of the Withered Aegis. This, however, is the start Shau was looking for. He'll return to his camp now. Seek him out there.
Shau tells you, I have begun to understand your people, <player>. The look on your face says much, it says that you are disappointed that I am still here in exile despite my victory in the Arena. You wonder why that is so, do you not?
- You should return to your place among your people
Shau tells you, It is not so simple, <player>. They remain, even now, under the yoke of the Withered Aegis. And, I am afraid, my link to Varrantoth has not been restored... in spite of my victories. I remain in exile in his eyes.
- All of that was for nothing?
Shau tells you, For nothing? No, my friend, I have regained my honor. I have regained a friend. And I have put doubt into the minds of many, both my people and the Cabal. And for all of that I have you to thank.
- What of Ta'ort and his treachery?
Shau tells you, The fool, Ta'ort, was ever a treacherous one... the adeptus caste all are, but you helped expose and stop it. My people live on a precipice, <player>. We cannot rid ourselves of the adepts or priests, they are necessary to the survival of our people... and so we must balance our need for them against their treachery. Thanks to you, however, their deceit has been laid bare for all to see. It is up to those who remain in charge to do something about it.
Shau tells you, Stay your spells and your weapons, Saris, I will not harm you if you do not try to do the same. Yes, I can understand you and you can understand me. Shall we agree to a truce? There are matters to discuss. As I believe the Elves say, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend".

- Speak with First-Lord Vor'at
- Travel to the Arena to watch the fight between Shau and the First-Lord
- Join First-Warden Vak-el in the stands and witness the battle
- Watch the battle between Shau and First-Lord Vor'at
- Kill Master Ta'ort for disrupting the challenge
- Speak with Shau again in the Arena to continue the challenge
- Return to the stands with First-Warden Vak-el and observe the fight between Shau and First-Lord Vor'at
- Witness the showdown
- Speak with First-Warden Vak-el about the results of the challenge
- Speak with Shau at his camp south of the Ruin of Tazoon
