The Holcomb farm is being invaded by ruxus. The pesky creatures keep breaking Farmer Holcomb's fence and breaking in to his wife's garden. He's offering a small reward to any who are willing to cull the ruxus herds from around his farm.
Quest text[edit]
Normand tells you, Oh, <player>, I just don't know what I am going to do. My wife is angry with me, I can hardly sleep at night any more. And all because of those mindless, pesky ruxus! They keep breaking in to my wife's garden and eating everything. I no sooner get the fence repaired and turn to work on my baskets when they're back in the garden.
Normand tells you, If someone would be willing to help cull the herd a bit, that may help. I couldn't pay much, but if you'd help you would be saving me the cost of a new fence, so I'd give you a bit of coin as a reward. Kill 20 of the smaller beasts. I know it doesn't seem right to kill the younglings, but it will help reduce the population over the long term if they never make it to breeding age.
The ruxus population has been thinned a great deal through your efforts. Hopefully by culling out some of the younger, smaller ruxus the effort you made today will benefit Farmer Holcomb for years..
Normand tells you, Ah, <player>, so it is done, eh? Well, I don't like it, but I know that what we did was the right thing to do. Those ruxus were becoming a menace. And the population just kept growing. It really is for the best for everyone. Here, please accept this as a token of my gratitude. It isn't much, but times are hard for us farmers right now.
