Long ago the Trandalarans built a fortress on the island that has since fallen into ruin. Vanaleir believes that artifacts and treasures left behind may be valuable back in Kirasanct.<br /><br />(Special Note: This quest may be repeated once per day.)

Vanaleir tells you, Are you interested in history, <player>?  I am! I enjoy exploring ancient ruins. In fact, there is a ruin on this very island. Have you seen it?

Vanaleir tells you, It is quite impressive, <player>!  A large fortress built centuries ago by the Trandalarans. You know of them, yes?  We call them Half-Giants now, but long ago they lived on Trandalar and explored the coasts of Aradoth from the seas. Why they built a fortress here, we may never know, but it will be exciting to explore!  Who knows what they left behind.

Vanaleir tells you, Why am I so interested in Trandalaran history, you are asking yourself? Well, for the profit of course!  Treasures, artifacts, who knows what those ancient people left behind!  Whatever it is, I can take it all back home to Kirasanct and sell it for a tidy sum.

Vanaleir tells you, Which brings me to you. I cannot leave this post, I am contracted to protect Giltekh from the local beasts as well as the weather. You, on the other hand, could explore the fortress and collect any treasures you find. Return when you have them and I will reward you for your efforts.

Vanaleir tells you, Yes, yes!  Oh my, what a fantastic collection you have uncovered. This one, no this one... Wait, that one!  Oh, these will be greatly coveted by my kin. Ah, the profit to be made. Thank you, <player>!

* Gather eight (8) [[Forgotten Artifact (Island of Ice)|Forgotten Artifacts]] from the [[Pile of Bones|piles of bones]] on the grounds around the Fortress on the Island of Ice. The Fortress is to the east of the Expedition Camp, past the Vikinos Beetles.

* Recover ten (10) [[Lost Treasure]]s from the Trandalaran spirits that roam about the Fortress on the Island of Ice.
