Stabilizing Incense Burner, Stabilizing Incense Burners - Limited Edition

Shangra wants to find an artifact Gnomes were using in Rachival before the city fell.

Quest text[edit]

Gnomes enjoy science and research by nature. They are prone to run experiments even if those ones can be dangerous. They usually have their share of fun when an explosion occurs.

However, they are not reckless. When they lived in their previous city, Rachival, they were known to burn a special incense to stabilize the air in their laboratories: as they were working a lot with explosive substances, this helped to prevent explosions... or to give more time to scamper off before an accident.

On the top of it, the incense had a pleasant smell so they also liked to burn it in their houses for a more mundane use. However, the knowledge to create the incense and the burners was lost when the city was invaded by the Withered Aegis.

The Tinkerers of New Rachival thinks some burners can still be found among the rubbles of their destroyed city. They would like to get some back, for nostalgia and probably retro-engineering to create new ones again.

I wasn't able to locate any of them, but maybe you could. I would reward you.

Thank you, <player>. I believe they can be found near the various piles of junks or destroyed structures at the Academy of Tinkerers. The slain and reawakened scientists may have some with them as well.

I have heard that special editions of the burners exist, created for some events: Gnomes are collectors. They are obviously more rare so harder to get. Maybe could you find some?

Old Rachival is not easy to access because of many roadblocks. But one of them should be opened in the mountains southwest of Winter Vale. Or you might find some less conventional entrances in the mountains around the city.

So, have you been luckier than I was? Yes? Wonderful, show me your treasures!

It looks like it was used to burn something. But it smells more like blight corruption than incense. Phew... anyway, you have done what you were asked, please accept these Artifact Hunter Tokens. You got a long walk, what about resting a while with me and enjoying my campfire?
