Within an ancient structure beneath the ruined bazaar of Tazoon, you defeated four of the eight targets Shau sent you to locate. You must now return to Shau and warn him that his people are now aware of his presence and will be hunting him.
Quest text[edit]
Zuyazu tells you, <player>, as I said before, you should watch your back. You should also warn Shau for they will surely be hunting him now that Taur-el, three members of his council and one warden are dead.
Shau tells you, <player>, welcome back. Has my vengeance been satisfied?

Shau tells you, Wait! You were followed!
Vak-el tells you, Shau, I knew in my heart you were not dead. You have always been too stubborn to die!
Shau tells you, Varrantoth only knows why I still live, Vak-el, but my vengeance will be swift and terrible.
Vak-el tells you, Vengeance? For what, betrayal? Who did the betraying... I followed this one after seeing them kill Borakos, Sha'kar, Malikos and Da'nar. I assumed it was the Imperial forces they were working for, but here I find that it was you all along.
Shau tells you, And so it was... Fate works in mysterious ways, Vak-el.
Vak-el tells you, Varrantoth's Will. Now I must kill this one to satisfy my honor and avenge my brother-in-arms. Defend yourself, <player>!
You have defeated Vak-el. He falls to the ground wounded, but not dead.
Vak-el tells you, I yield, <player>, I yield.
Shau tells you, Words I never thought to hear you say, Vak-el.
Vak-el tells you, True, I never thought I would say them, except to you. This Saris is powerful and I have been bested.
Shau tells you, <player> is powerful, as are all of the Gifted. Make no mistake, my old friend, it is not the Imperials or the Withered Aegis you battle here, but these Gifted. I fear we picked the wrong enemy in this fight.
Vak-el tells you, I have heard rumors, but they were dismissed out of hand as flights of fancy. I see now that we were wrong. What else have we been wrong about?
Shau tells you, A great many things, Vak-el. The Withered Aegis will not lead us to glory, but into darkness. We must learn from our mistakes if our people are to survive.
Vak-el tells you, So it would seem. My Lord, I beg your forgiveness and ask to be reinstated in your service.
Shau tells you, I know your heart, Vak-el, or else I would kill you where you stand. Welcome back.
