Step: Acquire ten (10) Magic Remnants of Elial.
I've thought over our last conversation at length, <player>. When nothing came up, the thoughts of the other beings in the area kept invading my mind. The Aegis intrusion on the island is minimal - restricted to the shoreline. Yet the undead dragons upon the hills have been here for as long as I have guarded this portal. What binds them there might be the same as what binds Elial there. I need samples of magical residue from Elial and the creatures on the peak. Do you think you could help?

Game Feedback: The dark magic curls in your hands. It feels cold and dark, unnerving you the longer you look at it. You would not be surprised if this was representative of the creature's soul.
Game Feedback: Cool residue drips from your grip, vanishing into the wind before it hits the ground. Unlike the ghost materia you have held from the Aegis, it emanates no feeling of rage.
Step: Return to Lantenal the Hermit.
