Draak... that name stirs up sorrow in your Draconic heart. As a newly Gifted you know little of events of hundreds years past, but you likely have heard part of the history; an academy full of hatchlings and teachers, slaughtered in an attack by the Withered Aegis. Nearly an entire generation was lost that day... there was thought to be no survivors, but perhaps they were wrong?

Tsraari tells you, Why? WHY?! I am a failure to the Dragon race, <player>! Do you not remember my name?! Tsraari! A coward with no chance at redemption! I... I was there when Draak fell, Dragon. Yes, yes, I was - do not give me that look of shock! The three atop the island today are brave; they guard the Academy even today and wish to cleanse it. I just sit here on the edge of this path, watching young Gifted run by.

Tsraari tells you, I didn't fight my way out. No, I hid. Classes were in session when the Aegis fell upon us like a wolf upon a grulet; I could smell the death from afar. Before I attended the Academy, I had been near and around the dreaded Deadlands of our enemy. I knew that smell like the back of my claws... but I doubted its validity. Oh, how many I could've saved!
Oh... no? You-you're not going to taunt me? Why... how did you find me? Who are you? Why are you here? <u>I don't deserve company</u>; leave me alone...

Tsraari tells you, I excused myself from my lesson to go find the source of the smell, claiming I felt ill... we were so near the Eastern Deadlands, I thought we may just have a small lost raiding party stumble around, but no, it was much worse. I stepped on the path only to see swarms of the Aegis on our very turf, creeping in. I froze. I knew if I made a sound, I was dead, but if I didn't... *she takes a deep breath* I stepped into the shadows, silent, watching. Not even a moment later, I was watching hatchlings - my friends! - fall to their bloodstained weapons one after the other, taken by surprise. I-I couldn't observe any longer...

Tsraari tells you, I fled... I sprinted behind the Entombed Dragon's silvery bulk, letting his outspread wings cover me as I climbed up and clung to the cliff. The screams... The s-screams haunt me! The roars of fallen teachers, the screams of slain hatchlings! The cries for help and the cries for mother and father... It was terrible. I still have nightmares to this day...

Tsraari tells you, I could hear the Dragon response winging in and their screams of dismay when they saw the death before them. I was too scared - I clung to the wall for dear life and kept deathly silent. The unholy stench of undead was burning my nostrils and making my eyes water. I silently willed Drulkar to protect me and to make this all go away... but not even he could help us then.

Tsraari tells you, One of the Dragons who flew in found me when I finally climbed up and over the cliff. They picked me up as the lone survivor, flying away into the distance. The entire time I screamed for him to drop me, screamed that I was unworthy, that I could've saved them - but he wouldn't listen. I think I screamed myself into unconsciousness.

Tsraari tells you, AH! L-leave me be, fellow Dragon! I know I am a coward; I don't n-need to be told it, I know it already! Go away and forget I exist, please...
