Ah, ready for your next task? Very well. As you've seen already, equipment and proper use of your abilities can improve your combat capabilities. You can also be improved even further through the use of boons.
- Boons?
Yes, boons are enhancements that come from spells, abilities, or even consumable items. They are often used before battle and can help tremendously. I have a spare spell I can lend you as an example.
- Oh, thank you.
There are two different types of boons; a gift, like the one I handed you, can only have a few in use at a time. As you grow stronger, you will be more capable of handling more gifts until you reach a maximum of five. Regular boons can be limitlessly used unless they conflict with another, such as a health increase with other health increases. Cast that gift and talk to me again.
Scribe Primal Alacrity and cast it on yourself. You can scribe a spell by right clicking it and choosing 'Scribe'. From there, it appears in your spell book, which is in your knowledge window.

Do you feel the power? The strength that wasn't there before? Excellent, that means it's working. All boons wear off over time, so you'll have to remember to cast it on yourself before battle. Speaking of, I think it's time you went hunting! There's a tribe of pygmies made of sand that have very nasty attitudes and are always looking for a fight. I want you to take a few of them out.
Defeat five (5) Agh'kuk Scouts on the western beach of New Trismus. The Agh'kuk Scouts are located west of the Lookout Camp, on the beach with four large rocks on the western coast of New Trismus.

Aha. You're back, and with a strong smell of the sand and ocean. I imagine that means you defeated those agh'kuks then. Before we continue your training, there is a bit more I'd like to tell you about beneficial spells.

Return to BattleMaster Avariatus.
Here in New Trismus, Resliak the Great sells many spells, but most are crafted by Gifted like you. There are also those who can make scrolls and potions, which are consumable items that work much like a spell but disappear after use so they are less convenient. They are made by naka'duskael and contain naka spells, which we cannot cast. They work just as well and I have a few to give you in case you find yourself in a situation that requires a bit more from your combat skills. Naturally, you could also terrorize a naka into casting some boons, but there's not always one around.

- Speak with BattleMaster Avariatus.
- Scribe Primal Alacrity and cast it on yourself. You can scribe a spell by right clicking it and choosing 'Scribe'. From there, it appears in your spell book, which is in your knowledge window.
- Speak again with BattleMaster Avariatus.

- Return to BattleMaster Avariatus.
