Valkoth tells you, Greetings, hatchling. Now that you have imbued the orb and the claw, it is time for you to assemble the phylactery itself. This formula will show you how to assemble the two pieces into a single whole, using a dragonscale forge. Do this, hatchling, then speak to me again when you are ready.
You have received 1 Lunus Phylactery Formula.
The silver claw clasps around the orb as though it had always meant to be. Studying it now, you wonder how the two were ever brought together, as removing the crystal orb from within its grasp is clearly impossible without breakage. Did the silver hand close its fingers without you realizing it?.
Valkoth tells you, Now that you have created a phylactery, you must charge it with enough energy to animate your new body when the time comes. As we Lunus know that the true path for ourselves is to eradicate evil, that is what you must do.
Valkoth tells you, There are three spirits in particular, with this appropriate type of power. You confronted one of them earlier in your journey when you defeated the Mind Lasher Esh. But both The Shade and The Cold remain, though they have been driven from the bodies of the poor people they once had controlled. They now walk Istaria as spirits, though they both remain powerful even in this form.
Valkoth tells you, You must find them and capture their essences into your phylactery, destroying them temporarily, and at the same time charging it with enough power to make the rite succeed. When this is complete, you will have a Phylactery of Shadows, and your remaining task will be to travel to the top of the Peak of Storms and perform the rite.
Valkoth tells you, These creatures are the Shade, the Cold, and the Shadow Dragon. The last is by far the most treacherous, and should be left for last. Speak to me again when you have dealt with the first two -- using your phylactery to absorb their power -- appropriately. Their locations can be seen in this vision stone; take it and follow its clue.
You have received 1 Bluish Stone.
The ghost collapses, and you feel as though the phylactery has grown a bit darker, more shimmery..
As the spirit falls, you feel as though the phylactery has become somehow heavier..
Valkoth tells you, I see you now possess a darkened phylactery. You are nearly there, then, only the test of defeating the Shadow Dragon remains. He is, however, the most powerful of the three by far. You will find him among the other undead dragons on the island of Draak. Do not go alone, though, hatchling, or you will be defeated. And you MUST use your Phylactery on him. It is the only thing that will really do any signifigant damage.
Your phylactery suddenly gains great weight, and darkens noticably. It is now fully charged..
Valkoth tells you, Excellent work! You are now fully prepared to travel to the Peak of Storms and complete the Ritual of Passage to Adulthood.
Steps[edit]
- Scribe the Lunus Phylactery Formula. Use it to create a phylactery embodying your spirit and self.
- Speak to Valkoth about how to empower your phylactery and prepare for your ascension.
- Locate and defeat Kaa the Shade. The Vision Stone revealed that he is deep within the Northern Deadlands, patrolling very close to the water, along the western edges of the undead area.
- Locate and defeat Lem the Cold. Lem the Cold is in the Northern Deadlands patrolling an area that is dangerously close to outter reaches of the undead area.
- Return to Valkoth for advice on how to slay the Shadow Dragon.
- Locate and destroy the Shadow Dragon. Valkoth has warned you many a time that this is your most powerful foe yet, and you should bring help. The Shadow Dragon roams the blighted lands on the island of Draak.
- Drag the Lunus Phylactery onto a hotkey, then target the Shadow Dragon and use it to do heavy damage.
- Return one final time to Valkoth with your Phylactery of Shadows and receive your instructions on the ritual you must complete on the Peak of Storms.
