Shau grieves for the wife he loves and was forced to kill. He wishes to assist her in the afterlife by providing her with items of strength to help her in her battles with Varrantoth and other Welger.
Quest text[edit]
Let us discuss what more we can do to honor Taur-el and help her in the afterlife, <player>. To battle against Varrantoth and even other Welger will require great strength. Treasured items collected during your life bring you strength in the afterlife.
- Okay, what did Taur-el have?
Her most treasured possessions were an axe and a belt, <player>. Neither were with her when she came here to this place. The belt was certainly not something she would have parted with and I would have seen it when I buried her, but I did not.
- What was special about the belt?
It was a ceremonial belt, my friend, one that she earned for completing her Coming of Age challenge many years ago. I do not believe she would ever have taken it off willingly, but I cannot fathom her state of mind near the end.
- Could she have left it with someone?
I would have thought not, but again, who is to say. Retrace her steps from the arena where you fought her, <player>. Perhaps she abandoned it or it was taken from her along the path.

- Search the road from Shau's camp to the arena near the South Gate of the Ruin of Tazoon.

- Investigate the glint of gold and silver near the large boulder east of the crossroads
- Triggers at 23876/24648(map)
- Slay the Varan Trackers who have followed you to the belt
- Return to Shau at his camp with Taur-el's Belt
