Blighted Stone Sample

With notes and observations provided by Lesser Prelate Eneth at the Tower of Healing, Minisa Albrath of Dalimond believes it will be possible to create a spell that will cure the plague.

Quest text[edit]

Minisa tells you, <player>, I will need you to gather some components in order to proceed. It should not be too challenging of a task, but it might take some time. Spells, in general, are relatively easy to make. Every spell requires two items - something to scribe the spell onto and the essence of magic with which to bind the spell.

  • Yes, I know this.

Minisa tells you, Obviously you do and don't you worry about the orbs and the spell shards, I have a supply of those around here somewhere. This spell, however, is going to be more complicated than most and will require a third component, to bind the magic to a particular element and aspect; in this case the blight.

  • Where would I get that?

Minisa tells you, Well, that is the big question, isn't it? Not just any blighted fragment or essence will do. No, this must be something related to the plague itself. Head back to the Tower and speak with Eneth, perhaps he has an idea.

Eneth tells you, <player>! Did you bring a cure?

  • Not yet, I'm afraid. I need something related to the plague to use as a spell component.

Eneth tells you, Hm. Well... Oh! What about that fragment of stone you brought back from the dig site? I think Curate Torai still has it

Torai tells you, Hello, <player>. Any progress on the cure?

  • I need that stone sample from the dig site to use as a spell component.

Torai tells you, Oh! Well, okay. I was going to study it, but if you need it for a potential cure then your need far outweighs my own curiosity. Here you are.

You have received 1 Blighted Stone Sample.

Minisa tells you, What have you brought back with you, <player>?

  • A sample of stone taken from the dig site where the plague originated

Minisa tells you, Perfect! I'll take that... with a bit of grinding to turn it into powder it will mix with the essence so that when we apply it to the spell shard the spell will be empowered. Simply give me a few moments.

Minisa has completed the spell and looks at you expectantly.

Minisa tells you, Here we are, <player>. A spell that I recommend testing on one of the victims first. I am reasonably sure it will function as intended.

You have received 1 Spell: Experimental Plague Cure.

Victim tells you, Aaaaah.....

You have cured the plague victim!

Victim tells you, I feel much better now, thank you!

Eneth tells you, Minisa successfully created a spell that cures the plague? That is amazing news, <player>! And I see that you have tested it with positive results on the victims here in the tower. Well done.

Steps[edit]

  • Speak with Minisa
  • Speak with Lesser Prelate Eneth at the Tower of Healing about a spell component related to the plague
  • Retrieve the Blighted Stone Sample from Curate Torai at the Tower of Healing
  • Speak with Curate Torai

  • Wait while Minisa prepares the spell
  • Speak with Minisa in Dalimond about the spell to cure the plague
    • You need to wait about a minute for the quest to proceed
  • Return to the Tower of Healing and use the new Experimental Plague Cure spell on one of the victim's found there.
  • Use the Experimental Plague Cure on a victim found in the tower (you will need to be close enough to them)
    • You need to have the 'Plague Proximity' debuff on you to be able to cast the spell.
  • Speak to Lesser Prelate Eneth about the experimental spell
