Grizelian the Primalist believes you have nearly reached the pinnacle of mastery over the Primal magics of Istaria. He has come up with a challenge, a test that you must pass in order to truly be considered and acknowledged as a Primal Master.

<player>, tell me again how you found this shard? On the body of one of the fallen near General Reklar's fortress? This is not good, not good at all. Based upon the composition of this shard, I fear that the General has somehow obtained the ability to trap the souls of the departed within their physical forms. And worse, to force them into his service.
That is a most disturbing revelation, <player>. I knew that Dargor had found a way to slay Reklar, but I simply had no idea how large of a threat the abomination poses. It would appear he now has an unending supply of warriors and that is grave news indeed.
You have done well and the knowledge you have discovered will be passed along and I promise to share my wisdom with you. First, however, I would ask one more thing of you. I know it is much to ask, but I feel as if we should do what we can to free more of our fallen comrades.
End the suffering of twenty five of them and return to me with twenty five Ethereal Shards. I must study these shards and work with Dargor to end General Reklar's supply of troops. If you are correct and these shards do bind the spirit to the husk, we must do what we can for our ancestors. Be forewarned, the General is too powerful to face alone, so use discretion as you fight his minions.
Travel back to the Barrier Vale and defeat twenty-five (25) Fallen of the Withered Scales

Loot twenty-five (25) Ethereal Shards from the Fallen of the Withered Scales

Game Feedback: It is clear that there are too many of the Fallen for you to be able to save all of them at once. However, you were able to give some of them peace for a short time. Return to Grizelian with the shards you've collected before General Reklar catches up to you.

The grisly task is done then. Thank you for the shards and the research material. This will further my research into the General's activities and I am sure will pique the interest of Dargor as well.

- Travel back to the Barrier Vale and defeat twenty-five (25) Fallen of the Withered Scales
- Loot twenty-five (25) Ethereal Shards from the Fallen of the Withered Scales
- Return to Grizelian with the Ethereal Shards
